Crash kills 2, shuts down I-65 in NW Indiana
Interstate Highway 65 in northwest Indiana has been shut down in both directions for a 10-mile stretch after two semi-trucks and a tow truck collided, killing two people, police said.
The accident occurred about five miles south of Lowell and State Road 2, said a spokesman for the Indiana State Police.
The vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of I-65, but traffic has been shut down between the Lowell exit (the 240 mile marker) and the Demotte exit (the 230 mile marker). Police said they didn't know when lanes would reopen.
Details were not available on the cause of the crash or how it happened.
