My 06 F650 w/260 HP IBX and Century 21' turned 190,000 miles today. At exactly 190,000 miles the #4 injector line split at the injector allowing
diesel to spray everywhere and allowing the loss of prime once the engine was shut down (with a car on the bed). This line has a mount that bolts to the engine
and a rubber bushing in the mount to prevent vibration (I guess) from cracking or splitting this line. Turns out the bushing dried out (at least is came out in
pieces) and this appears to have contributed to the line failure. The bushing and mount come as part of the injector line from Cummins.
It was an easy 15 minute fix and a lesson learned. Hopefully someone else may be able to use this information to prevent their own breakdown.
