Posts: 175 10/31/2009 21:49 Massachusetts	Tags : None okay guys hoping someone on here has a answer to my problem... first of all the truck is throwing no check engine light at all but it started at a 1/4 tank of fuel it would act like it was running out of fuel i would fuel up it would be fine, then a few days later at a 1/2 tank it would act up the rear tank would be full of presure so i figure it was vapor locking so i changed the caps, now at a full tank it acts up it acts like its running out of fuel you will be cruising down the high way and bam the rpm tacks to 4,000 it down shifts, sounds like the motor is poping pop corn and bogs down, now its no going over 60 it feels like its governed i tryed running no cap in the rear and it still does it, no check engine light, and a huge head ache..... its a gas model 8.1 with the allison 6 has anyone had this issue? if so is it the fuel pump or am i missing something, i banged on the cat and theres no lose sounding parts so i don't think the cats are bad i'm just lost and don't want to spend 500 on a fuel pump just to have the same issue... please help Andrew's Towing & Recovery Bellingham, Ma. Posts: 74 11/01/2009 10:47	I know you said you banged the cats but to me it sounds like the cats...check the exhaust temp before and then check it after the cats and see if theres a difference...other then that I'd say fuel pump.

Posts: 178 11/01/2009 20:33 Massachusetts	i checked fuel presure today and it drops down to almost 10-15 pounds and if you keep it at that the trany won't shift and it feels governed... the fuel filter and pump at supposidly one unit however under the driver door on the frame rail looks like there is a filter with two inlets and one outlet.... no numbers on the filter have to check with the dealer in the am i guess Andrew's Towing & Recovery Bellingham, Ma. Posts: 1 11/04/2009 13:59 Banned User	Check your fuel filter. Had a similar problem on my '09. Fuel filter was stopped up. Filter runs around a hundred bucks.
