From what he has told me, this started last night while working a fatal accident. If I hear anything, I will post it hear. Hopefully, it's nothing serious, and I can appreciate Linda being assertive.
Hang in there little buddy, there is no way we can function without you.
10-11-09 Received a call from Linda that he was taken by ambulance to Marquette (about 2 hours away) for an MRI. It appears he has bleeding on the brain. On a positive note, she says he is very coherent and his speech is very good.
10-12-09 1:30 PM- Marked called and said he had a brain hemorrhage and is still awaiting more tests; MRI's and Cat Scans. He had lost all motor skills on his right side, but is starting to get some feeling back in his hand. He does not have a laptop as of yet, but it sounds as if Linda will bring him one tomorrow. I can tell you he sounds like himself. he was trying to talk Linda into wearing his gown so he could sneak out and get chinese? Want to send a card?

TUESDAY 10-13-09 UPDATE: Linda called this morning to up date us, she says his MRI shows the hemorrhage is not expanding, which is good, but his blood pressure is out of control and is causing seizures. So, he definitely will be there at least a few more days.
WEDNESDAY 10-14-09 UPDATE- By TowmanGP, Reporter DA-MNN-
I just spoke with his nurse in the ICU, right now he is sedated due to a test they just did. Moose told her that he was feeling better (before they knocked him out) and a little stronger. He was trying to get her to bring in some Chinese food for him!
He is going to be transferred later today to a regular room and will start rehab tomorrow. Nurse suggested calling later this evening.
edit / add. His blood pressure is now back under control too. Things are looking good for DaMoose.
THURSDAY 10-15-09 UPDATE-
Well, not really. I just spoke with Mark (10:30 AZ time) and they are getting ready to boot him out of there. He is going to be transferred to a rehab hospital for therapy. Don't know just yet which hospital drew the short straw and is going to have to take him.
He sounded good and in good spirits, lets just continue to pray for a full recovery
SATURDAY 10-17-09- Tried to call our Moose this morning, but he must be in therapy. I called his crew at home and talked to Brian, he tells me they have moved him to the rehab wing of the hospital and he seems to be doing good. Brian did say everything was fine at home with the business, all though it was extremely slow, which is consistent with October in Northern Michigan. So it's nice to hear things are getting taken care of on the business side of this and Moose has nothing to worry about other than his health. I will try to touch base with Moose later today to see how he is feeling.
TUESDAY 10-20-09- Talked to Da Moose today. He says rehab is going slowly, mostly because he is too stubborn to listen (his words). He claims to have a tentative release date October 30th. He mentioned he has received cards and visitors, he talked a little about the card that WhoaNellie and Timco sent, but he loved the flowers Tracy sent. Tracy, he told me to tell you the purple ones tasted best! He still is having too much difficulty with the computer, and he doesn't push too hard because he only gets stressed out. He sounded in good spirits.
THURSDAY 10-22-09- Talked to him again today. His spirits have changed dramatically, he sounded more down today than he ever has since this all started. They took him off his blood pressure med's as his blood pressure was too low, and I think he is starting to question his future limitations, which would be hard on anyone. He needs cards! Please send cards!
TUESDAY 10-27-09- Just hung up with the grumpy old fart just now. Tentative plans are for him to be released Friday. He still sounds a little down, but under the circumstances, he has a lot issues he needs to work out before he can be settled in. Therapy is very difficult for him, which is very understandable.
He still can't read our posts, but he knows they are here. he wanted me to tell everybody he appreciates all the support given.
I hope to be able....no I will be there on Friday when he gets home. The Moose has always been there for everybody who has ever needed him, and it's time we be there for him, even if he doesn't appear to want help. Mark, we love you with all our hearts and we will see you through this.
SATURDAY 10-31-09- He was released yesterday and made it back to Engadine at 6 PM. He has a long and difficult road to travel, he is still not able to get around on his own. But he is making an effort to push himself to get up to a walker and also in a wheel chair.
He still hasn't been able to get on the computer to read anything since he went to the hospital. He is very appreciative of all the cards, flowers and gifts he received.
I also need to acknowledge John Rushton (Auto Rescue). John managed to make a visit every day for the past 3 weeks. John, you have know idea how much that meant to him.
Now, I need to say something to you, Mark, as I know eventually you will read this. You need to know you are an inspiration to everybody. You always managed to be there for anyone who needed you; often whether they liked it or not. Not only to the people here on Tow411, but to the towing industry in general, as well as to your local community. The amount of respect you have earned from your friends in the law enforcement community as well as your volunteer fire department is incredible.
You need to know we are here for you. You need to know we love you. Do not be afraid to ask for help. You have been taking care of people all your life, and you need to know it's ok to receive the same consideration back.
You have a long road to recovery, but it's paved with friendship. We are here for you.
THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12, 2009- Mark asked I pass this along as he still is unable to use his computer. He is progressing very well. Therapy is tough, bit it is working. He appreciates all the support he has received and hopes to be back in the saddle soon. He is getting around the house pretty good. He also told me to say a bunch of other stuff, but some of those swear words I cannot spell!
