Hey guy's i have a 1997 C5500 and when i bought it it had a older carbed 454 swapped into, well im sick of it just no power and it's acting up now!
anyway i have a older International DT466 engine thats still in a Dump truck (body is shot) and it has a Allison Automatic my rollback still has the original 6
speed! anyway anyone ever swapped a DT 466 into a C5500??
I measured the DT466 and it looks long like it might not fit but i need to do a little more measuring this weekend! My biggest problem would be the Yoke on the Tranny and motor mounts but the old DT466 is mechanical so not much more than Alternator and Starter for wiring, Just wondering if anyone has tried this frankenstein swap! thanks guys!
