There are potted inserts in the composite that are used to join the top and angled portion of the deck to the composite pods. Many of the inserts have
pulled out of the composite allowing there to be about a 1 1/2" gap between the black steel portion of the deck and the white composite portion.
This problem was probably acclerated due to the fact that the majority of the roads we drive on are rough secondary or gravel roads but I think that it is
still unacceptable that after only 110,000 km the composite pods are falling off the truck. In general, I am impressed with the truck and what it can tow but
I am disappointed in the composite deck. I think that when the time comes for another new unit, we will go with the steel deck (my opinion and not necessarily
the owners)
Has any one else had this problem?
