Yep, It happend to me this weekend. One of my rollbacks overheated. When I checked it out all the water was in the oil pan. So i had to pick it up from my
drivers house and took it to my lot. On monday I will tow it again to a shop to get it fixed.

oopps i hope that DT466 not to bust your driver horns but did he watch the gauge? My guess it was a water jacket or seal around one the cyd heads ,,,,,,,That
mean in frame rebuild i had that happen to me with my 97 the motor made a grunt and i look and the gauge went up but funny thing when i stop it went down did
my tow and made it home and it turn out to be a water seal.
that was a 2 years ago.............still running strong,,,,,,,,,, TOM Good luck |

all my drivers are good about watching the guages. It actualy overheated as he pulled into the neaborhood. The oil is still clean (not mixed with water and
sludgy) so i hope it didnt do mutch damage. Yes its a DT466 it only has 265,000 miles
opinions are like arm pitts, everyone has more than one and they all stink.

If it's a DT-466 it is probably the o-rings on the cylinder liners....... which, yes means an overhaul.

That good along he did not realy over heat it as i ran for 80 miles on mine with the bad o ring and i kept the temp low
and did not push the truck dt466 are realy good motor and built very well over haul is not bad it give you more miles on a good truck mine went out on 173,000 my other has 261 on it now knock on wood good luck TOM |

my dt466 2004 done the same thing @ 196,000 miles , we put a inframe in
parker's towing

i had 270,000 on mine at this point. I did the rebild myself and has been running strong since. Now has 285,000 on it
