Posts: 1811 11/28/2008 22:27 Featured Member February 2009 Michigan	Tags : None well here I go again with the stolen rims again....lol...this 1 happen to the customer on Wednesday night nov26 the customer woke up Thanksgiving morning to her rims stolen off her brand new ford edge...and this 1 didn't even happen in the Detroit this time...this one happened just north of the city in a surrounding city in a very nice suburb....but the Fords are getting more common now ive done 2 of these within 2 weeks of each other, the fords are getting more common....now im getting more use to these with out rims these Ford Edges are more challenging then any other car ive done with stolen rims...but ive got my routine down pat on them now....lol....but here are some pics of how i do them... i put boards under the front control arms and skates under the rear control arms i also had skates under the front bumper cover to keep it from scraping the ground (sorry cant see the skates in the picture but they are there) i thought i had a picture of them in my camera but its not there skates under the rear control arms under the shock mount I had to put skates under the tail pipes to keep the tail pipes from scraping the bed when unloading this is the one I did 2 weeks ago in Detroit at a ladys house they stole them right between the house....sorry this is the only picture i have of this one it was lightly raining and i wanted to get this done before i got soaked.... *Member of the Michigan Troll Association*

Most of the time I prefer to use bigger wood rather than just skates to get more clearance. You got r dun without any more damage. Great job. If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.

Posts: 1813 11/29/2008 12:06 Featured Member February 2009 Michigan	Cotton I usually use wood on them but there's not anything for the wood to grab into on the rear of the Edge so thats why i used the skates...i usually always use wood on cars missing rims for the clearence....i have to get some more wood and cut some into shape i have already come up with some ideas for this with the wood ,the wood i have on the truck just dosent work, when i placed the wood under the rear all the Edge does is slide on top of the wood.....but i did it with what i had at the time and it worked out well with no damage....and the edge actually sits pretty high off the ground so it worked really well with what i had.....thanks for the good comments wreckerman im not sure what the deal is with them, they just started stealing the Ford rims usually i get GM products stolen rims.....but when i talked to the dealer they said they are worth about $4,500 rims and tires so im guessing they are being sold to shady body shops... *Member of the Michigan Troll Association*

The sensors can get a little expensive (80$+) so maybe thats part of the deal for stealing them..

The sensors can get a little expensive (80$+) so maybe thats part of the deal for stealing them.. ps- keep in mind if you change tires as well, cycling the key on will show you if the TPMS system is on the vehicle by a tire and exclamation point inside of it. If you do change them they are either part of the valve stem (looking at the vavle stem shows a nut, usually on gm vehicles) and another we run into is one thats strapped into the inner side of the wheel 180 degrees from the valve stem, these you cant see untill you take the tire off, and these are usualyl found on ford vehicles.

You need to get some 6X6's, notch them out on top and attach some old bed liner to the bottom of the 6X6. Use the 6X6 instead of 4X4's, gives you the height you need??? Just a thought. I have quite the collection, and it sure comes in handy when we are called for a wheel-less vehicle. Usually our wheel-less ones are Sheriff's tows that are being removed from someone's yard. (unregistered, poor condition, etc) The spare tire collection is a great idea that I highly recommend to anyone.
