Posts: 152 10/09/2008 09:59	Tags : None Just bought a 96 GMC Topkick with 6 speed and Cat engine. Only with the engine running, the Auxillary Brake warning light and buzzer stays on. I think the truck has a good pedal, but its done it since I got the truck so I dont know if the pedal is affected. I checked the maxi-fuse block under the hood and all fuses are good. Theres 2 relays there but no markings as to what theyre for. Under the driver side of the dash is a fuse block with circuit breakers. Fuse #1 and #2 are labeled BRAKES and both sides of those breakers are hot, which tells me that part of the circuit is working. Now that Ive checked the easy stuff, anybody have an idea what to check next? Thanks!

Posts: 1105 10/10/2008 09:23 WreckMaster #040745 Utah	Keep looking in here, i think this has been around before in here. On our c-6500 we used to have, it was cured by bleeding the brakes. I think the buzzer is an indicator of low accumulator pressure - when it used to happen to me i'd pull over, shut the truck off and hold my foot on the brake pedal for 5-10 seconds - you could feel the brake motor running, then fire the truck back up and it quit. Posts: 153 10/10/2008 10:05	I realized yesterday that the brake motor isnt working...... probably burnt up. Im checking to see what I need to fix that now. I wonder if the bad brake motor is whats causing the lite? Thanks for the response!

Posts: 23 10/13/2008 00:17	Does it have the electric over hydraulic parking brake? If it does, the fluid tends to get water in it and turn pink ( like pepto ). If it is , change fluid and it should fix the problem. The fluid reservoir is under the driver's step. Last Edited By: jrssound 10/13/2008 00:23. Edited 1 time.

Posts: 75 10/14/2008 00:09	In my experience the switch fails and we just replace it. They fail so much that we keep stock of one for each truck. It is a cheap part. worth a try.

Posts: 154 10/19/2008 13:38	Bones, Which switch are you talking about? I replaced the relay for the electric brake motor but the motor still wont run. If I put power to the motor, it works so that tells me the motor is good. I'll try that switch when you get back to me. Thanks!
