Posts: 17 10/01/2008 22:49	Tags : None These are some pics from a recovery I did this past weekend. I got a call from a friend at another tow company to assist with a bob cat recovery. The customer was getting rocks out of the creek to use in a driveway he was building when he got stuck. By the time a got there the engine had water in it and would not run. I had to spin the bob cat around, pull it to the bank, then straight lift it up an 8ft bank so the mechanic could work on it. I would appriciate any comments on what i should have done different.

Posts: 18 10/02/2008 15:49	Here are the best pics I have of the truck so far. I know it is an older truck but it has very little use on it and it runs really good. It has impressed me so far and I cant wait to use it more. I know the bank looks like it could fall in, thats why i didnt get any closer. it made me real nervise.

Posts: 2252 10/02/2008 20:27 Featured Member December 2008 American Towman Medal Baltimore 2006 North Carolina	the only two things see is in pic 3 you can see the metal flexing on the rear hook,a short strap around the arm would cure that and on your lift with the single chain theres a chance it would slip,make a short "jump" chain..2 hooks and maybe 10 links,you wont have to worry about it slipping. i do like in pics 8 & 9 that you didnt put your spades down,one more security that you wont cave in the bank... definately a nice first of many recoveries for that good lookin cornbinder

Posts: 19 10/02/2008 21:43	Tim, you nailed it. Its a century bed with a formula III under reach. A 16 ton unit. Kieth, U noticed the metal flexing, thats when i moved my hook. Not many places to hook to. I will have to remember the "jump" chain next time. Good idea. Thanks for the suggestions

Can I make another sugestion with your boom all the way out to the max & your cables 2 parted to the end of the boom, pulling it on that angle you can pull the boom out . I had a similar one 4 years ago I put a chain on the boom head & chainedit to the mast above the rams so it couldnt pull out, just another thought . thanks for the pics

Posts: 97 10/11/2008 10:05	Looks good only thing that im worried about is that when you did the first pull in the mud you had it direct line not doubled up that mud has some serious suction plus alot of resistance and of course the boom all the way out is not too good but i like the truck thing is beautiful nice recovery stay safe Adam Capeway Towing INC.
