box truck wash-out !!!!!! |
Lead | ||
|
Thurs. 7-3 received a call from FHP to respond to a truck accident were the truck was fully submerged. Keith was already out in the JD on the alley and his
eta was 4-5 mins, upon arrival they showed him were the truck had gone in. Myself and the HTS dive team was dispatched to recover this vehicle that had 3-
pallets of newspapers in it. The driver made it out and onto the roadway on his own before he collapsed . After assesment of the scene and communicating with
the FHP it was decided to use the Sheriffs dive team for the recovery and investigation. We positioned the 75t for the initial lift onto the embankment than
the 85t to reach out and lift the rear. Once on the embankment I could reach out and hook to the front so we would be able to lift and swing the casualty out
between us. When they finished processing the scene and dive team cleared all there equipment , I hooked it up and towed it in to our impound.

Nice work. Love it when you can let someone else get wet rigging. What? No JD for you, Jorge?

Most newspapers get wet from the tears and boo-hooing when people read the news. Glad to see someone made some money of the "bad news".

Good work Jorge & Keith. Setup once, recover the casualty without having to move the trucks, hook it and book it. Good show. Who was on "gator
watch" in the water? I think I would have done that recovery standing next to the boom mast! Them gators gonna have to really work to get my ass!!
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.
