We have a 2003 chevy 4500 duramax diesel with around 108,000 miles on it and when you idle it up while your working the pto is smokes pretty heavily, it's
not black its grey and it also does it when the truck is just idling and you can see it. We had it in at the dealership and had them check while they were
putting on a water pump and they said that they couldn't find anything because no codes came up. Any thoughts or ideas while be greatly appreciated.
We talked to our dealership where we purchased the truck, and i also talked to the people through the 800 number (very nice people) and they are going through the tests right now. The first test was they put something in the tank and then had us run it until empty. The truck is still smoking so we will be bringing it in for the second test monday. Thanks again kam for the number, she said that she will monitor the repairs and make sure that everything is taken care of.
