I have a new 2017 F450, 4x4, V10 gas wrecker with being built from Ford & a 8 Ton Chevron Renegade/twin winch/Autogrip assembled by a long term wrecker builder I trust & have used multiple times before. The (new to the 2017 V10 6 speed) automatic transmission has a PTO provision which has been checked on the Ford order box, my builder has chosen a belt driven PTO pump stating they prefer the belt drive to the direct trans driven PTO. Im having a hard time with the belt driven idea as all my other trucks have been driven off the transmission without issues & my customers dump trucks that come into my shop are mostly belt driven with a mess of PTO debris under the hood. Your thoughts on modern day belt driven PTO's on a dual winch light duty that will see a fair share of 100 plus foot of winching duties over embankments, etc...? Thank you.
