JACKSON CO. -- Authorities responded to the scene of a crash Friday evening in rural Jackson County.

On Friday, June 16 at around 6:40 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff's Department received a call about a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 127 and Beaucoup Road in rural Vergennes.

Authorities say Desiree Moffitt, 36, of Coulterville, was driving a white 2000 Chevrolet SUV northbound on Highway 127 near the intersection with Beaucoup Road, when she crashed into a red 1993 International tow truck driven by Johnny Wisely, 55, of Vergennes, who entered the intersection into the path of Moffitt.

Both vehicles were damaged and towed from the scene.

Moffitt and two juvenile passengers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Wisely was cited for failure to yield right of way at the intersection.
