CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — A 41-year-old man from Hazleton, Pa., was killed Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 81, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The man was working along the interstate when he was struck near the northbound 20-mile marker at 9:14 p.m., police said in a news release.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pennsylvania State Police crash reconstruction and forensic services units investigated the crash.
Police release identity of worker killed in Greene Township I-81 incident
SCOTLAND, Pa. — The identity of a man who was killed Friday night when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 81 in Greene Township Pa., was released Sunday afternoon by Pennsylvania State Police.
Michael J. Friendy, 41, of Hazleton, Pa., was setting up a construction zone when he struck was struck by the vehicle, according to a news release from state police.
Friendy was working along the interstate when he was struck Friday at 9:14 p.m. near the northbound 20-mile marker, police said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The Pennsylvania State Police crash-reconstruction and forensic-services units investigated the crash.
The investigation is continuing, Trooper Brent Miller said.
