I own 7 GM vehicles. Anyone want a new fleet? I have owned 2 GMC 5500's and will never own another.

Jason,...i wont stand up for a dealer that refuses
to do everything possible to help out a
customer,reguardless of what company they are selling
for. If i was your dealer and had wreckers setting around
i sure would have tossed ya the keys to one and filled it
up for ya. We cant judge an entire company off of one
dealer any more than we can judge the towing world off of
any one tower. Give GM a call and send some serious
feedback on that dealer,that will help more than anything
else. In addition to dropping their customer satisfaction
index,it will probably initiate a service audit....All of
us GM dealers arent the same...............

The biggest issue is with GM customer service and
not with the dealership. The regional rep. from GM told
me that I could sell all my GM vehicles and it would not
change anything.

our rep is the same way our 07 5500 with 5000 miles
the inside of the fuel tanks are coming apart and keeps
plugging the filter, our dealer tried to get it
warrentied but the rep said no way, they want 2 grand for
new tanks and flush the system

I just went through this last week. I am really
disappointed with General Motors. Everyone I talked to
had a piss poor attitude. I feel their whole customer
service department needs a major overhaul.
The last new truck I bought was in 2002, & I got a nice Thank You card & phone call from the dealer a few weeks later. I also got a nice card & follow up survey from Ford, thanking me for spending my money with them. It`s been 6 months since I bought this truck, & I ain`t got sh** from the dealer or General Motors....I guess they really don`t care if you buy from them or not. I am sure I will remember this when I am in the market for another truck. |

We filed a suit against GM and got a small "pay
off" after selling for a loss. Ours went in the shop 26
times within 8,000 miles. It had three transmissions
before 8,000 miles (allison autos). Brake problems, fuel
problems, steering problems, etc, etc, etc. It was a 2000
C6500. It was our last GM tow truck and judging by these
comments above, it will probably continue to be. I called
the 800 number daily to complain about not having a truck
to make money with, they basically didn't give a crap.
Some things never change.

Im glad too see this support imformation on all
these problems. For what its worth,{which probly isnt
much but i hope it is} I'm goin to copy these if its ok
with everybody and relay this set of issues to a
corproate GM rep. I cant blame anybody for adjusting a
fleet over issues such as these. We are a full line GM
dealer and i run a Freightliner!...keep up the good
posts!..let me know if anyone DOES-NOT want their issue
forwarded....just doin what i can,thanks, Kenny

Ok... I guess I'm the lucky one.. I love my 5500
Crew Cab, The only prob I've had is a r/f brake caliper
bolt and the Air Comp thingy.. I just pull the fuse.. and
I don't know what gives but my Ex. Brake works when my
pass. seat won't air up because there is no air???

Had to pick up BIGWINCH1 on the interstate today.
Fuel pump #3. Towed to the dealer again.

I'm have to agree with Bell, mine (06 c5500) has
55000 miles (hard drive it like you stole it miles) and
the only problem was the a/c lines rubed together causing
a leak, that was because when my mechanic changed the air
filter he bent the bracket. But my dealer took good care
of me fixed it under waranty in one day. My compressor
only works the air seat too. ?????
I do my maintanance very strict and use good parts good oils and clean fuel, seems to be working great for me. |

hey guys are you sure your exhaust brake is really
working cause mine still kicks transmission down but the
air part dont work to open the reliefe valve

This one is headed back to the dealer again. 7th trip for compressor and is leaking from one of the injectors they just replaced! JUNK, JUNK, JUNK.

i agree with you guys 100% we have an 04 C6500 shut off first month we had towed to dealer was out of gas but showing 3/4 of a tank told to keep full until a
solution was found thats good so i have to stop every 150 miles to get fuel so finally took it back in for the repair they claim to fix it and we take it now
we dont drive this truck all that much so it takes me a couple of months to realize i have the same problem had put only about 500 miles on truck called gm
they said tough **** your out of warranty now so after arguing with them for awhile i gave up i would also love to sell this truck anyone want it lol

My air conditioner quit today. Hot as the hinges of Hell, & me with no A/C. Got almost 9000 miles on this truck now,... and remember the fuel pump went out
at 5000 miles.
I called GM, & got the same old song & dance. Take it to the closest medium duty dealer, & see when they can get around to it. That is 2 hours from me, & I ain`t gonna do that. The local dealer here could fix the air conditioner, & save me lots of grief. Nope....sorry, we won`t pay warranty if they fix it there. Just like the last time, I am NOT happy. I will pay to have it fixed out of my pocket, & I will damn well remember all this the next time I decide to buy another truck.
I was promised that some one higher up the food chain at GM would call me within 48 hours. I really don`t believe that will happen. I hope it does, because I ain`t done chewing ass yet. Sad thing is...I always liked a GM truck. Damn shame their sorry warranty reps care nothing for the customers. |
