I only found one member in the area of the storm, David Escalera (descalera) of Escalera Wrecker Service in Mission Texas. David, the storm is about to make landfall near you and looks like its gonna pass right over Mission as a cat 2 when it makes landfall near Brownsville. Give us a shout and let us know how you fared. After you get collected, post some pictures, too. Holler at us if ya need anything....Stay safe. I have not failed, I have found 10,000 ways that won't work. Posts: 491 07/23/2008 13:56	I am looking at the radar right now and it looks like all the towers near Houston and Southeast Texas are going to about to get alot of rain. Everybody secure the hatches, weather station says anyone on the Texas coast or near it is about to have a bumpy ride. The skies are starting to look ugly between Houston and Beaumont.

Light rain and the temps in the 70's brought us a nice break from the mid 90s. The Weather Channel was saying that the target area was the best place it could have went due to it being not a heavily populated area. Hopefully, everyone affected is ok. If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem.

Regular Member WreckMaster #95298 Moderator Florida	visiting here in south texas and lots of rain. the drive down from san antonio some places the rain was so hard could not see past the hood of car. family lives about 80 miles n of where it made landfall and they said very windy and lots of rain-- one friend said over 5 inches. we were going to go down to that area but decided not to. one neighbor here had downed tree but got lucky it missed the house other than taking rain gutter down.

Posts: 155 08/01/2008 00:29	well here we are. sorry for not responding a lot sooner. she sure has kept us busy before and after the storm. the days leading up to her landfull. we were busy getting the shop ready as well as each others employees houses and dads ranch. then during the storm, we got extremely lucky because she took a northern approach as she was making landfall at south padre island. however, she did leave a lot of damage. personally i only received an uprooted tree. the employees all had very minimal damage as well. the shop had a part of a fence bend down a little but all has already been repaired. the rest of the area did receive some significant damage and as of last night not everyone has gotten their power restored and there is a huge problem with sitting water and those damn mosquitos. man they are getting huge. cant get enough OFF lol. thanks again for your concerns and offerings. reminds me of what a great group of brothers and sisters this community consists of. our help is always a phone call away as well. (956) 240-3491. i will ALWAYS answer that number (cell) . phone is on 24/7/365. thanks and lets all be safe out there. ill try and post some damage pics i have from during and after the storm asap.
