Some of you know me, and know that I sold my business in Texas and now live in Chicago. I am partners with Marci Gratzianna,(my best friend) in a towing business. I also do Safety Operations for OHare Towing.
This TV Show is a very stressful, nerve wrecking, pain in the butt, costly, project to say the least. I know first hand, because the week I moved here the camera crew did too. Ten hours a day, two different shifts, they practically lived at the office.
I can tell you that Bill & Marci thought long and hard, weighed the pros and cons, and ONLY decided to do this for the HOPE of what it could do for the industry.
It is easy for all of us to speculate, second guess, praise, criticize, ridicule all of the actions, language, purpose, motive, and the list goes on of how or why someone does something. It is the reputation of everyone involved , even me, that is now thrown out there for the entire TV viewing world to see and question. It was not an easy decision to make and I can tell that there were stipulations in the contract of what and how they would and could be protraying our industry.
We are all human, and it is reality tv. These episodes have not been seen by any of us. We get bits and pieces and we see what they shoot. They shot over 360 hours of footage for 10 hours of tape. I was literally yelling at Trike the other night when we were all at the premiere, because of where he was standing and what he was doing! Im the safety girl, but as YOU ALL know, we can teach our guys and girls the right way or company policy, but we don't know what they do when they are on scene without us.
As far as upcoming episodes, not sure what they will be, but I can tell you it is not only Heavy Duty. They rode with service drivers, light and medium duty as well as filmed TRAA certification testing, and safety meetings. They want to show the importance and danger of what we do.
All I would ask of each of you as you watch over the next 18 episodes, please put yourself in OHare's position. O'Hare put there business, family, friends, employees, reputations out in the open for everyone to see, knowing there would be redicule as well as praise for the idea of what this show can do for our industry as a whole and to show the professionalism we do have.
I welcome any comment, good or bad and again I thank you for all the comments and views.
