This post is"In Memory" of Calvin Eugene Allen, founder of Allen's Wrecker Service of Rock Hill, South Carolina. Calvin passed away on June 15th, 2008. He was 70 years old. Calvin was known to all as "Pop" Allen, and founded Allen's Wrecker Service in 1970. He was also a US Air Force Veteran. Calvin is survived by his wife, Marilou, two sons, Joe & Donnie, two daughters, Gale & Dale, 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His legacy will be continued by his family. Calvin was always there for his drivers, and was quick to teach them what it meant to be committed to the business. He showed us all what it means to live & love the towing industry, and his teaching and strength of character will live on in our hearts. Everyone in the towing business in and around our area has been guided by Calvin Allen in one way or another. We will miss him, and will never forget his lessons of life.

ive heard of mr allen, but dont think i ever got the chance to meet him-- sorry to hear of his death-- his legacy will live on i am sure

We had a great turnout for the funeral procession today!! Over 21 trucks were in attendance for "Pop's Last Ride"!! The police escort took us on
a route around Rock Hill, SC for 15 miles & ended back where the family had gathered. The event was covered by the local news & newspaper, as this area
has never seen a procession of this kind. Special thanks to David & the Southern Star of Charlotte family for attending, & Hunter Wrecker Service &
JoJo for also sending a truck for the event. You guys are great!!! I really think that "Pop" would have been proud!!

Glad i attended the service. Although i didnt know Calvin personally , I knew him though everyones storys. He was a fellow tower and we are all family. That
man touched so many hearts and he will be truly missed. Christy....that poem was great ( brought tears to my eyes ) . Im glad to see so many tow companys come
together for a presession and it was great. Heres a few pics i took.
