Eddie did this the other day when we were in AC. It only had 13,000 on it but it was 15 mile from where it should of been... Not a big deal & he got it right out. Then he escorted her to the correct location. I asked why not just hook to the tow hook. He said it was bent so he didn't trust it. He didn't realize that's how a 379 hook looks but better safe then sorry. Wrapped the frame, under the axle, and used a snatch block. I was sitting at a black jack table when he sent me the picture on my phone...."Look what your missing"....I said that's good because I'm loosing! Thanks, Ed

No Pics. of it. he followed his GPS to a Back road & Instead of Turning around where the road Fork's, He double checked his GPS and Decided to go to the Right ( another Back Road that was definately NOT for Trucks ) and ran the Trl. Tandems off in the Ditch - Raised the Rt. side Tractor Trandems up in the air and there he sat. We winched him back out, Helped him Turn around and then Escorted him 8 Miles to his destination where he was headed to. ....... Nice Job !!....TIM www.timstruckservice.biz

In this case, my son was coming back from a tow and near this exit so he went to check it out. With only 13K on it, it's not an issue. It wasn't mired and as long as he watches his line load, there isn't any problem. He was using the resources that he had available and accomplished the task safely. And to add to it, it pays the same. Thanks, Ed

Posts: 3314 04/28/2008 15:09 Featured Member April 2008 Elite Member Company WreckMaster #011247	Not everybody can appreciate doing a job with a smaller truck like this....you have to own a Jerr-Dan to get the full "gist" of the matter! Just kidding but honestly I have a huge respect for what this truck can accomplish. As long as you watch the line load, the unit will out work the chassis. As far as the hook up goes, I agree that I would of used the pull hook but as I said, he saw that it was bent and didn't realize that this is how it's manufactured. They are told to trust their first judgement if you can't get a correct answer. He knew the frame would be a good rigging point so that is what he went with. He thought about the right side first but didn't want to bend the bumper. Eddie said the unit walked right out with very little resistance. Looking at the job, I would of done it with 40k in the box and not think twice about it if I had to. The only limitation is not having enough azz to hold the wrecker back but with the spade on the wheel lift it stands still pretty good. This is it with the steer 2' off the ground...she digs in pretty good! Anyway he is a work in progress and in my eyes, did a good job. Thanks for the comments. Thanks, Ed

Sal would that be the rate given to a regular charge customer? Around here in a 30 mile radius, there would be 20 companies that would do this for $350 or less. We are probably one of the higher priced. If it was a police ordered tow then obviously it would be substantially more do to the circumstances. I would venture that if someone price shopped it they could get it done for under $200.....not here though.... The $850 number doesn't surprise me when it is put in to perspective with the $40,000-70,000 wrecks. No disrespect intended but I have seen some "home run" invoices from your area. I guess if you can get it then more power to you. Wayne, what does a job like a basic winch out go for in the Baltimore area? This job was about 1 1/2 to 2 hours with travel time (20 miles away). Had to find them which took a little bit since they didn't know where they were exactly.... Thanks, Ed

Fortunately...we got it back by the end of the trip. We charge hourly for most but flat rate on jobs that are involved but easy with today's equipment. I go out and lift dropped loaded trailers pretty regularly and return in under an hour...not doing that for $175.00! Thanks, Ed
