That is just it, Matt. It makes you afraid to use it on a 911 call. I can see this thing puking out on the freeway with ther bed in the air.

It seems to have everything to do with moisture. Warmed up and started with issues, this morning was good, then it died. Restarted and it ran ok. WTF?

I'm sorry to hear that Kam, we bought a new 02 international and we had problems with that thing right away, and after taking it back to get serviced everytime i never really had much trust in that truck. Hopefully they will get your truck figured out, it just sucks spending that kind of money and have it sit at a dealer or your not able to fully trust it.

Well, here we go again.

Since picking this 2008 up at the dealship last time, it has run without fail. But, today, the temps warmed up into the 30's and now the fan is kicking on to cool the engine and it doesn't need cooled.

I guess we will just run it till she dies. Or until it gets colder again?

This is starting to look like a moisture issue.

Unless you need an Ex- Cab Pete 335 or K/W (370?) Aluminum Cab, Cummins Power, Higher Resale and not a Huge difference between them and Comparably Equipped Freightliner M2's and International 4300's

It's been many years since I owned an IH, and I really don't have anything against them. I have never dealt with our dealer here, but have heard nothing but positive.

ya ya i saw that too, look at the chev,gmc, room they are telling there side,i`m telling you it`s int 4300, w/ air ride,brake, it`s not that bad. maybe you just don`t like them or you dealer. ok KID.

Here is something to think about...

I have a 07 4300 w/ 466dt

Waterpump been replaced
Alternator been replaced
ABS sensor sensor been replaced - 3times I think
Mirrors rattle and shake
5th gear has been replaced-rebuild...

We got eight of them one with a cat motor thats trouble free and the rest with the duramax!!! The main thing I hate about them is I`m 6`4`` and my knees are up againt dash board with the seat all the way back.. Thank god my truck is an 01 chevy ext cab!!

Well, it's home. All they replaced is the clutch fan, so we will see what it does.

Terry, somebody else in your "neighborhood" has 2 or three of them in the shop, or at least he did a few weeks ago.

I guess they are going to put a new clutch fan in and see if that don't cure thr problem. And, I hear you loud and clear on the financial part of GM. They did me good there too.

Kam, we just had an injector pump go out on one of our 5500's, out of warranty, and they stepped up to the plate and paid for a chunk of it. I have to hand it to them with the financial condition they are in they did not hesitate on my claim.

Jeff, I had thought about the cooland sensor. I had that issue with my 2006. But this happens without notice. The coolant sensor will at least give you an idiot alarm. It's almost as if they shut the key off.

Dennis, I have been lucky enough to get Pete Riccardo on board. he's a big wig with GM medium duty warranty and he makes things happen other can't seem to. Dealers might find him a pain, but I can't thank him enough.

Sure hope you get this figured out. Have you called GM's medium duty hot line? I had a problem a couple years ago, and they were a big help, and actually refunded me some money I had paid a non GM mechanic, Good luck.

Kam have them check the coolant level sinser. It might be low in coolant or bad. It is a easy & quick fix. Does it chime when your going around a corner or turning? If I can help please call.

My 2006 5500 spent 118 days in the shop in the 2 year I owned it. All the repairs were covered, but that is the last GM product I will buy.

I think I have bought my last GM product.

My 2008 has failed again, a few weeks after it spent 11 days in a dealership garage getting a new computer put in it.

Sunday it failed again, Cross Country towed to a different dealership. Now I am told it will be a few days before they can even look at it.

Just driving down the road, it dies. Starts up but dies when you put it in gear. Sometimes you can use reverse, but that's it.
