Ohio State Rep Tracy Heard is proposing changes in Ohio's laws concerning towing fees. It's an attempt to lose the "loopholes" in the law.
Can someone from TRAO say what the association is lobbying for in this? Will there be an overall increase in the tow and storage fees? And will it be written as the current law as a "one-price-fits-all"?
The current law with its 90/12 & 150/25 limits is far too restrictive to towers and is unfair. I can't think...

ohio turnpike is starting up ez-pass 10-1 09 . and does anyone know how the turnpike will charge you, if you go out to tow in a truck off the pike and you both have ez-pass, will both you and the trucking company get charged for both units?? someone said you had to pull the ez-pass out of the truck you are towing and it would just pick up your ez-pass.not sure what to do

This is simply a fact finding topic which can be presented to the TRAO Board prior to next years show. There were many concerns over a Live Auction which lasted several hours and clogged up the main lobby. While it is fresh on the minds of many attendees, I feel the question must be asked. Live or Silent Auction?

I have a serious issue. I am a light medium and heavy operator in Southern Ohio. I am also HAZMAT certified and have a new $10K response trailer sitting around. That isn't the issue. What is though is this: I am on a heavy wrecker rotation along with 4 other companies in my area. In my county there is one other company besides myself. The other two are from another county. Here is the issue, These two companies are allowed in my area BUT I am not permitted in theirs. This is troubling....

I was told today that at the last meeting that Ohio said that these lights could not be used in the state as tow lights, drag lights which ever you prefer. Does anyone have insight

hey im from North Canton, not in the towing business yet but am a student at UNOH for Diesel/Ag Mechanics and worked at a garage in Waco for awhile. I would like to be a member of TRAO but I was told that cause I'm not an owner I couldnt be. An less I'm wrong. If so I would think the member count would be higher if employes would be able to. Maybe it could be changed. ( my boss doesn't what to be a member)

I am wondering how many others are having trouble getting titles for abandoned vehicles here in Ohio. I have an attorney's office that I have worked with since 2006. They have been good to me and they do my collections work. However, I asked them back in June to look into filing for titles for abandoned vehicles for me, in order to keep all my legal work with one company. Since then I have sent countless emails and made telephone calls. I still have not have any luck getting titles....

Today we get a call from one of our accounts to pick-up a vehicle from Jeswald towing in Youngstown. We call ahead get address, total fees and what type of equipment needed. We tell the person answering the phone who we were picking it up for and we would bring a tax exempt form with payment. We drive from akron area to youngstown to be told they only except cash on impounds. I, the owner of Joes Auto, call Jeswalds and am told the same thing.
