I have noticed a trend that tow trucks are becoming alot more populat to be stolen.......So, why not do something about it to help prevent/deter your trucks from being stolen?

ALL of our vehicles, from tow trucks to service vehicles, have an alarm system on them AND a starter-kill function that is seperate from the alarm.

Some alarm systems offer a "starter-kill" when the alarm is tripped, which is great and we use that option in addition to the basic alarm function, but we have also went a step further and created our own "starter-kill" feature to disable the starter "all the time" unless you know how to "activate" the starter. So, even if someone attempts to "hotwire" your truch or even if they have a copy of the key, they can start the truck unless they know how to "activate" the starter....

Since we have done this to all of the vehicles in our fleet, we actually did receive a discount on our insurance. In addition, we also equiped our vehicles...

AAA Tow Manual.....for Smartphone or Computer

The AAA tow manual is a great resource for vehicle specific info, so I wonder why they havent yet prodiced it in an "electronic file format" yet.........That way you could access it on your computer or smartphone.

I think that it should be a "standalone" file that you download and it runs without an internet connection!

The towspec website is good, but you gotta have internet access and in some areas where cell service is not possible, then yer out...

Also, because when the new versions of the AAA manual is published, they drop off some older vehicle listings from the book, so that it makes room for the newer vehicles....so what ends up happening is our office has a whole catalog or previous years manuals to dig thru until you go back far enough to find the vehicle in a manual that your looking for....SO, to make it easier (and more helpful as a resource) why not compile all the volumes of the AA tow manual into a single downloadable file that works...
